Christian A. Clawson
Christian Clawson is a partner with McDermott & Clawson and has been with the firm since early 1991. Based in our Orange office, Mr. Clawson provides assistance to our Los Angeles County, Orange County, and Inland Empire office attorneys and operations staff—in addition to representing his own clients. He has been instrumental in the top-notch training provided to our associate attorneys.
Mr. Clawson has been a Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation Law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization since 1997.
Background
After receiving a degree in music in 1974 from California State University at Fullerton, and an electrical engineering in 1984, Mr. Clawson received his Juris Doctor degree from Western State University College of Law in 1989 and was admitted to the California Bar in 1990. He joined the Law Offices of James K. McDermott following a decade of varied assignments with McDonnell Douglas Corporation in Huntington Beach, including:
- Facilities engineering and design
- Industrial engineering
- Manufacturing engineering and management
- Electrical/electronic engineering
- Space law legal research
Chris Clawson was welcomed into the firm's Orange County office and has conducted internal and external attorney and client education seminars on all topics of workers' compensation defense interests. He has also been an active participant in our Training and Education Committee, Management Committee, and Information Technology Committee.
In addition to managing a regular defense caseload, Mr. Clawson has overseen the installation and integration of a complete case management computer system jointly shared between all of our offices, and has also worked with our staff to initiate and maintain expedient delivery of customer information via electronic mail delivery.

As a new grandfather, Chris is learning how to change diapers again after a 28-year hiatus. He also enjoys cooking for relaxation.
