The firm was founded in 1986, specializing in the defense of Workers Compensation litigation and Employment related matters.
The firm is an established member of the Workers’ Compensation defense community with offices in Los Angeles, Orange and San Bernardino Counties. The Los Angeles office services the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB) locations in Los Angeles, Marina Del Rey (Santa Monica), Van Nuys, Oxnard and Goleta. The Orange office services the WCAB locations in Santa Ana, Anaheim, Long Beach and Pomona. The San Bernardino office services the WCAB locations in San Bernardino, Pomona, Riverside and Palm Springs.
Our representation is tailored to meet the needs of the client. Our philosophy is to provide quality legal services in a timely and cost effective manner consistent with the goals of our client.
Our approach to litigation is pro-active. The firm is committed to limiting each attorney’s caseload to 75-90 files in order to ensure quality representation and an aggressive resolution of each file. We control litigation expense by timely analysis of the issues, communication of the value of the case to the client, discussing options available to reduce exposure and costs while making recommendations as to the best course of action consistent with the goals of the client. As a result, 33% of our cases are concluded in less than 12 months and 65% in less than 24 months.
We have instituted the use of a customized version of ProLaw Legal System software, firm wide, to facilitate file management. We have also developed a Quality Control program designed to obtain the information necessary to resolve the issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Initial File Reviews, Deposition summaries and Post-Hearing reports all issue within 10 working days of receipt of the file or the appearance. Phone calls are returned the same day (in those instances where the attorney may be in court, phone calls are returned within 24 hours). Written communication occurs whenever the value of an unresolved economic issue changes or when information is received which may necessitate a change in the previously agreed upon Plan of Action. Status reports are provided at least every 45 days. The client is continually advised of the case value and our recommendations for the best way to bring the litigation to a resolution.
California has recently undergone a sweeping series of changes to the Workers' Compensation Laws. We maintain an aggressive internal training program to keep up-to-date with these changes and the impact they have on our clients. We provide educational seminars for our clients to keep them abreast of legislative changes and significant case law decisions, and to suggest strategic options for claims handling.
